Illness allowance and transfer of the employee in another EU member Country

INPS, with message no. 4271 of 16 November 2018, provides clarifications on the employee’s entitlement to illness allowance in case of transfer to another EU member Country.
In case of transfer abroad (to EU and non-EU Countries), during absence from work due to illness, the related allowance is granted upon a specific authorization to be recognized by either ASL or INPS.
This authorization is required in order to avoid possible risks of aggravation of the employee’s illness, due to the transfer, and the increased burden that such a circumstance would imply for INPS. Therefore, if the employee is transferred without authorization and with a negative opinion from INPS, the Institute won’t pay any economic allowance.
